Heraklipon City

Visiting Heraklion City and Knossos Palace is the perfect opportunity to lose yourself in the island’s rich history and culture.

We start in the morning from Rethymno and the wider area and head towards Heraklion. Depending on the busyness and to avoid congestion, you will be informed in the morning whether you visit the city first or Knossos palace, so you can have all your free time to explore and dive into the ancient world of the Minoan civilization.

Once we arrive in Heraklion, you will have 4 hours to explore the city’s cultural heritage and visit the famous Heraklion Archeological Museum which is the home to an impressive collection of Minoan artefacts. Walk in the city and local shopping will be also a good addition to your time spent in the capital of Crete.

At the Knossos Palace, you will have 1,5 hours to visit the archaeological site. You can walk and explore on your own or you can hire a guide to take you through the ancient history of the greatest civilization. You will immerse in the world of the Minoans and explore the fascinating and complex palace.

In the afternoon you will be back at your hotels, full of beautiful memories and impressions.

Useful information

Sunscreen, hat and comfortable shoes will be of use to have more pleasant walk in the city and archeological site.
